Analysis of the Role of Strengthening Farmer Group Institutions to Increase Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) Production in Majene Regency

This study analyzes the role of strengthening farmer group institutions in increasing coconut (Cocos nucifera) production in Majene Regency using a quantitative approach. The study was conducted by collecting primary data in the form of questionnaires from farmers who are members of farmer groups and secondary data from relevant agencies. To measure the impact of institutional strengthening on production performance, the researcher used the Coefficient of Variation (CV) as an indicator of production stability before and after institutional intervention. The analysis results show a decrease in the CV value of coconut production, reflecting an improvement in stability and consistency of farming outputs after strengthening the farmer group institutions. This study reinforces recent literature findings that more active institutional organizations can improve farmers' access to information, technology, and market support, thereby positively affecting farm productivity (Indonesian Agribusiness Journal, 2025). Furthermore, these findings are in line with the results of agribusiness institutional studies which show that a strong institutional structure contributes significantly to the performance and strategy formulation of farmer groups (Agrica Journal, 2024). Therefore, strengthening the institutional capacity of farmer groups is recommended as a policy strategy to support the sustainable increase of coconut production in production center areas
